3 Weeks today!

Hello all...
 I have now been smoke free for 3 weeks today, whooooo!!!!
I have had some bad days and some good days, whereby craving have been more intense some days, but I keep going...
  Funny thing! Today was a bad day, its all I have thought about today is ciggies, I kept trying to distract myself, but the thought kept creeping back in my mind, I just couldn't get the thought out of my head.  So as a result, I have ended up popping more Niquitin mini's today, just to take the edge off the cravings. Boy!! Its been a tuff one today for sure.  But I made it to the end of the day without smoking, I take every day at a time and make myself promise that I won't smoke today.
  One thing keeps me going, is every time I feel like I want a ciggies, I just look at my list of reasons for giving up in the first place, stuff like having yellow fingers  and smelling of smoke, being unfit and addicted, just doesn't appeal to me, God who would want that lifestyle for themselves????  But sometimes when a really bad craving comes along, its all I can think about is having a ciggies, that's how strong this addiction to nicotine can be, its crazy I know!!  But I keep fighting on...
  Hey! Be great to know if anyone else out there has also quit the dreaded ciggies?   Please let me know how you are going...

Hard day of craving today..

Wow!! Glad today is over, had a really bad day from the time I got up till the time I went to bed, cravings were really bad.  Popped about 5 Niquitin mini's today, they eased it slightly for me. Not even distracting myself would do the job today, but chalk it up to just another day on my journey, hopefully tommorrow will be better...

I am off the Niquitin Minins..

Hello all...
I decided to come off the Niquitin Minins as I thought I will have to come off them all together, weather in the 5 weeks or 12 weeks, it will be the same withdrawlers!  So I felt good enough yesterday to come off them, so I did...
  Cravings were bad yesterday, together with I had a stressfull day with the car not working etc, all made it 10 times worse.  Today! Is not so bad, If I get a craving I am sucking a hard boiled sweet and distracting myself, seems to be working, I got to remember not to dwell on smoking, because if I don't distract myself, by washing the dishes or just doing some thing, I will end up sitting there thinking of having a ciggie, not good!!


  So Its been 2 weeks and 2 days since quitting, feeling good in my self, feeling cleaner and healthy already..

How I am beating cravings..

Heres a few ways I am beating the dreaded cravings...

1. Niquitin Minis, I pop one only when I get a really bad craving, I figure that it will be easier when I stop them all together.
2. Eat a hard boiled sweet or chew a piece of gum..
3.Put my Ipod on and just chill out..
4. Mediation and Yoga helps me alot!
5. Put a splash of after shave on! Its the first time In years that I can smell nice, without smelling of smoke.
6. Have a cup of coffee..
  These are a few things I use to beat those cravings and they seem to be working, I think the most important thing is don't sit there and dwell on having a ciggie, I have given up!!! I am now looking forward to my new life as a non-smoker...

Nearly 2 weeks..

Hello all...
 This is going to a blog about my up and downs of given up smoking.  I used to smoke roll ups, about 20 a day for the past 23 years.  Now! For  nearly 2 weeks I have been a Non- smoker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  It will be 2 weeks on this coming Tuesday that I have given up the ciggies and I am proud of myself LOL,
I have been having more cravings the last two days, so I have been trying not to dwell on them or before I know it I am thinking about smoking, so I have been trying to distract myself as much as possible during this time...
I am using the Niquitin Minis 4mg and find them good, I am only using them when I really have a bad craving (about 5 a day) I have also found pictures of lung cancer and brown smokers teeth and yellow stained fingers, and wrote down the reseaons why I shouldn't start back smoking, so every time I have a bad craving I just look at the smokers lungs pictures etc and this reminds me WHY! I give up in the first place...



Reasons for not smoking.
1.Smell of Smoke
2. Yellow fingers.
3. Bad chest.
4.Heartburn.
5. Being addicted.
6.unfit.
7. Worried my family are also inhaling my smoke.
